ABOUT ME
I'm Valerie Denise Jones, a three-time mayoral proclamation recipient, award-winning filmmaker, author, celebrity publicist, radio personality, and proud U.S. Army veteran who believes every person has a story worth preserving.
Over the years, I've edited documentaries, produced radio and podcast programming, written books, interviewed celebrities, moderated industry panels, and worked behind the scenes in film, television, and entertainment. My journey has taken me from movie sets and music conferences to film festivals, television studios, and city halls, where I was honored with three mayoral proclamations recognizing my contributions to the arts, cultural storytelling, and community engagement by Mayor Donna Deegan of Jacksonville, Mayor Harvey L. Ward of Gainesville, and Mayor Randy Martin of Hawthorne.
Along the way, I've learned that the greatest reward isn't the recognition. It's hearing someone say, "Your story changed the way I see mine." Whether I'm documenting the life of a Motown legend, producing conversations with influential artists and changemakers, amplifying underrepresented voices, or creating meaningful dialogue through film, books, podcasts, and media, my mission remains the same: to preserve culture, inspire purpose, and ensure that every story has the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy.
My résumé moves like a Netflix series. Every project is a new episode, every challenge is another plot twist, and the season finale is nowhere in sight.

Whether I'm editing a documentary, film, music video, interview or digital project, I'm always looking for the same thing: the moment that makes somebody keep watching. I know how to dig through footage, find what matters, cut what doesn't, and shape a story without over-explaining it.
My work also extends beyond the edit suite to interviews, live events, panels and hosting, but storytelling is always at the center. I don't just tell stories. I help people find the one hiding inside theirs.
Warning: Working with me may result in better stories, unexpected ideas, a few laughs, and somebody asking, “Who edited that?” Have footage? Let's find the story.
I edit documentaries, films, music videos, interviews, trailers and digital content. Sometimes the story is obvious. Sometimes it's buried under six hours of footage, three cameras and somebody who refused to stop talking. Either way, we'll find it.

Got a story to tell?
Need an editor who can find the story hiding inside your footage? A filmmaker who understands pacing, emotion and when to let a moment breathe? Or maybe you need a host who can keep a room laughing, thinking and fully awake after lunch. Let's talk.
Whether you're sitting on hours of footage, planning an event, building a new project, or holding onto a crazy idea that might actually work, I'm interested. You don't have to have it all figured out. That's part of the fun.
The coffee's optional. The creativity isn't.
